There was a fire in the Kasayuli Subdivision early on Wednesday, June 28. There were no reported injuries, but animals died.

Alaska State Troopers were notified that an Alaska Native woman’s body was found on the Yukon River about 30 miles from Emmonak on Tuesday afternoon, June 27.

Nine members of the Alaska Organized Militia deployed to Bethel and Circle recently to support flood recovery efforts in Western and Interior Alaska.

The Kuskokwim Ice Road will no longer be maintained starting on April 1, 2023.

The dive team brings additional skills and equipment to the search as it enters its second week.

A total of four men are missing.

“It feels like winter. It's not, it's spring,” Napaimute Ice Road Crew member Mark Leary reminds travelers. “The sun is strong and there's changes going on out there every day. You have to be careful and observant.”

“There is no ice road right now,” said Mark Leary, a Bethel Search and Rescue member and Director of Operations for the Village of Napaimute. “We don't call it an ice road until it's marked and plowed, if needed. And there's responsible entities for keeping it maintained. Right now it’s just a truck trail.”

“I had to make a quick decision to go get them before the storm hit,” said Kongiganak Search and Rescue member Roderick Phillip. “I don't know if they would have survived a second storm.”

Bethel Search and Rescue is asking for help looking for two missing boaters.
