The Kuskokwim Ice Road will no longer be maintained starting on April 1, 2023.
The announcement is coming from Bethel Search and Rescue member and Director of Operations for the Native Village of Napaimute Mark Leary.
Leary wants the public to know that removal of the markers and signs will begin the week of April 6 and advises everyone to travel at their own risk.
