After power rates in Aniak shot up to some of the highest in the world, customers asked the Regulatory Commission of Alaska to reconsider those rates. The prices will go down again, but the commission is looking into other irregularities.

Aniak is still reeling from major electricity bill hikes this summer. While the Regulatory Commission of Alaska took action to bring down the immediate financial burden, Aniak Native Council is proposing a resolution to make fundamental changes to the commission.
