Shane Iverson
General ManagerShane was hired as General Manager of KYUK in July of 2016 after a decade of work with the station. He first served as a station volunteer and then moved into a paid position as a news reporter before transitioning to radio director and then director of content and operations.
Shane has been living in Bethel since 2003. His wife is from Bethel/Akiak. They have three children and their two school age children attend the Yup'ik language immersion school in Bethel.
Before moving to Alaska he was born and raised near Iowa City, Iowa, and graduated from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
Shane's career has focused on providing people with the best information possible about events and trends affecting the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. He shares in KYUK's passion for informing, educating and entertaining the region.
When Shane’s not at work he can be found fishing on the Kuskokwim, hunting on the Yukon or coaching youth sports in Bethel. He also loves to pukuk. Shane’s favorite native foods are salmon head, caribou pateq (bone marrow) and pressure-cooked moose knee.
