Bethel musher Pete Kaiser has won his seventh Kuskokwim 300 title. He arrived at the Bethel finish line shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29 with his team of 11 dogs. A big crowd of friends and family gathered at the finish line to celebrate.

Jason Pavila has scratched from the Kuskokwim 300 at the Tuluksak checkpoint. The Kwethluk musher took a fall and ended his race early on Jan. 29.

Nineteen-year-old Raymond Alexie’s perfect mushing season continued by winning the 2023 Akiak Dash in commanding fashion. The Kwethluk musher arrived in Bethel shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Jan. 28 after outpacing a field of 15 mushers from Bethel to Akiak and back.

Eddie Burke Jr. is the first musher to depart Kalskag and begin on the trail towards the halfway checkpoint of Aniak in the 2023 Kuskokwim 300 Sled Dog Race.

On Jan. 28, 15 mushers will race the roughly 65-mile 2023 Akiak Dash Sled Dog Race from Bethel to Akiak and back. This year’s race will introduce a new winner to the history books because there are no past champions entered in this year’s race.

Three past champions will race in the 44th running of the Kuskokwim 300 Sled Dog Race starting Jan. 27. The race runs from Bethel up the frozen Kuskokwim River to Aniak and back, bringing together 21 top mushers from the Kuskokwim and from across Alaska.

Kwethluk musher Raymond Alexie has won his first Bogus Creek 150 Sled Dog Race. He arrived in Bethel shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Jan. 15 with a team of 10 dogs and was met by a crowd of cheering supporters.

The Kuskokwim 300 race marshals issued a 20-minute penalty to Fr. Alexander Larson after he left the marked trail near Kalskag on Jan. 30 and didn’t stop at the inbound checkpoint. Mushers are required to stop and sign in at every checkpoint.
