Bethel Regional High School is starting a football program; it just needs funding, equipment, players, a coach, and approval from the state. The plan has two things going for it: teams to play against— in  Anchorage— and administrators confident that the Warriors will kick off next fall.

The margin was thin, but the Bethel Warriors placed second at the 2016 Bill Weiss Invitational wrestling tournament in Ketchikan this weekend. Less than half a point separated the Bethel team from first place winner Ketchikan High School. Bethel earned 197.03 points. The home team Ketchikan High School took 197.52 points.

K300 Raises Race Purses, Adds New Race

The Kuskokwim 300 race committee says that it is raising the purses for local and featured K300 races, and starting a new local race.

The Bethel Wrestling Club participated in the 2016 Alaska USA State Wrestling Tournament in Wasilla over the weekend. Three Warriors came home with a ‘triple-crown’ title after coming out first in all three wrestling styles: Folkstyle, Greco-Roman and Freestyle.
