Bethel Musher Earns 2021 Iditarod Red Lantern

Bev Hoffman

Two seconds separated Bethel's Victoria Hardwick and the second-to-last-place musher in the 2021 Iditarod, earning her a second Red Lantern Award on March 18.

Although they were trying to tie for last place, Hardwick’s team crossed the finish line at 12:22:06 a.m., two seconds behind Dakota Schlosser, who arrived at Deshka Landing at 12:22:04 a.m.

Hardwick earned her first Red Lantern Award in 2019.

Editor's note: The headline on this story has been changed. It previously read, "Bethel Musher Last To Finish 2021 Iditarod."
