Important Dates:
- Election day for the 2020 general election is Nov. 3
- Early in-person voting began on Oct. 19, and will continue until Nov. 2
- For absentee by-mail ballots, the state must receive your application by Oct. 24
- Absentee by-mail ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, Nov. 3. The U.S. Postal Service encourages voters to mail ballots early and warns that ballots dropped in the mailbox on Election Day might not be postmarked for that date. Mail sent in Alaska gets postmarked in Anchorage, but voters can request a local postal worker postmark their ballots by hand at their local post office. Or you can skip the post office and instead submit your mail-in ballot to an election worker at an early voting location or at the polls on Election Day.

- Absentee by-fax or by electonic transmission ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3. Alaskans can request a ballot be emailed or faxed to them. The voter can then print off the ballot, fill it out, and either fax or physically mail the ballot to the Division of Elections. These ballots must be postmarked by Election Day. District 38 polling locations for Election Day, Nov. 3 can be found on the Alaska Division of Elections website.
In Bethel, early, in-person voting is occurring at the ONC Multipurpose Building from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Nov. 2. Election Day voting will be held at the Bethel Cultural Center from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.
How To Vote If You Are Quarantined Or In Isolation
- Special Needs Ballot. This kind of ballot is for people who are unable to get to the polls because of illness, age, or disability. The ballot can be picked up at an early voting location or an Election Day polling place by the voter's personal representative. The ballot must be returned to a polling location by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3.
