Bethel’s annual fireworks display is going to be bigger and better than ever. Casey Burke, with the Bethel Fire Department, said that the department raised enough funds to support a show much larger than normal to ring in 2021.
“We had some extra money this year and we thought, 'Well, let’s do it. Let’s add it to our fireworks display,'" said Burke. "We probably came close to doubling what we did last year. Not quite, but usually it goes 25 to 30 minutes. I expect it’s probably going to go at least 45 minutes.”
The fireworks begin at 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve in the Bethel Fire Department parking lot. People can enjoy the show from their cars. Burke said that unless the wind picks up and makes it unsafe, the display will go on as scheduled.
