Fourth of July Fireworks Legal Again In Bethel

Snohomish County City

The fire danger may be too high in the rest of the state for Fourth of July fireworks, but not in Bethel and the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. On Tuesday, July 2, the state lifted a ban on fireworks sales and use in Western Alaska.

The ban will remain in effect for much of the rest of the state because dry hot conditions have created high fire danger almost everywhere else. There are currently 115 wildfires burning in Alaska, including two new ones that ignited Monday. One was started by a campfire, and another spread from burn barrels.
