A former Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation employee has pled guilty in Anchorage Superior court to distributing child pornography.

A Bethel jury has awarded $140,000 to a man injured in the back of a police vehicle when the officer slid off the road and hit an electrical pole.

The crash occurred in 2014 when former Bethel Police Officer Aaron Fedolfi was driving the vehicle with Adrian Hoffman of Tununak handcuffed in the back seat.

Gunshots rang outside Bethel’s AC Quickstop Thursday night.

Police and medics responded and found an unidentified male had been shot at and four bystanders assaulted, according to a Facebook post by the Bethel Police Department.

The bystanders were uninjured, and medics transported the unidentified male to the hospital and treated him for minor injuries from being hit with a gun.

Bethel said goodbye to one of its longtime officers last month. Bethel native and former BPD Officer Gwen Drake left the Yukon Kuskokwim Delta to begin working as a campus police officer at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She starts her new job Wednesday. KYUK talked with Drake about what’s ahead and how her time policing in a rural town will help her work on an urban campus.

What if someone were using your credit card at the same grocery store where you shop? Would you notice? Especially if the charges were similar to what you spend? Someone in Bethel seems to have guessed no and allegedly racked up a series of fraudulent charges at AC, the Alaska Commercial Company.

Bethel based state troopers say they are recommending criminal charges against two tribal police officers in the southwestern Alaska village of Quinhagak.

Dave Bendinger with KDLG in Dillingham reports the two allegedly TPOs allegedly drank confiscated bottles of alcohol at the jail, gave alcohol to an 18 and a 19 year old girl, and engaged in sexual activity with one of the females. according to an online press release from the Troopers.

FBI agents along with State Troopers and Bethel Police conducted searches in at least three subdivisions in Bethel Tuesday, in connection with possible illegal alcohol sales.
