COVID-19 Call-In With YKHC: Close Contacts, Schools, And The Immunocompromised

YKHC Chief of Staff Dr. Ellen Hodges and YKHC Director of the Office of Environmental Health and Engineering Brian Lefferts join us for Wellness Wednesday. In this episode we discuss schools reopening, the changing nature of what it means to be a close contact, and immunocompromised individuals.

The CDC reccommends that immunocompromised individuals who received either the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine get a booster, or third, vaccine shot. Contact your local clinic, or the hospital in Bethel, if you believe that you qualify.

All Y-K Delta residents 12 years and older are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. You can register your child or yourself to be vaccinated here. If you are in Bethel and you don’t want to fill out the online form, you can also call 543-6949. If you are in a village, call your local clinic.

Walk-in COVID-19 testing is available in Bethel on the first floor of the hospital Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. In villages, you can call your local clinic to schedule a time for testing.

For information about current COVID-19 trends in the Y-K Delta, visit YKHC’s COVID-19 Dashboard.
