Watch: Local mushers stand out in the 2022 K300

Pete Kaiser led the pack of mushers in the 2022 Kuskokwim 300 Sled Dog Race. In a return to the traditional K300 route up from Bethel to Aniak and back, local mushers showed the race field what it means to mush on the Kusko.

K300 musher Father Alexander Larson gets 20 minute penalty for skipping Kalskag checkpoint

The Kuskokwim 300 race marshals issued a 20-minute penalty to Fr. Alexander Larson after he left the marked trail near Kalskag on Jan. 30 and didn’t stop at the inbound checkpoint. Mushers are required to stop and sign in at every checkpoint.
