Federal Grand Jury Charges Former Bethel Elementary School Principal With Crimes Against Minors
A federal grand jury has indicted Bethel’s former Gladys Jung Elementary School Principal Chris Carmichael on four charges. The jury issued the charges on Dec. 18. They include two counts of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor, one count of possession of child pornography, and one count of attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor.
The grand jury’s indictment means that Carmichael, age 55, has now formally been charged with criminal activity. He is currently being held in federal custody in Anchorage, and his next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 20.
