The margin was thin, but the Bethel Warriors placed second at the 2016 Bill Weiss Invitational wrestling tournament in Ketchikan this weekend. Less than half a point separated the Bethel team from first place winner Ketchikan High School. Bethel earned 197.03 points. The home team Ketchikan High School took 197.52 points.
Five wrestlers scored over half the Warrior’s points:
In the 138 pound weight class, Hayden Lieb placed first and scored 30 team points.
In the 106 pound weight class, Thomas Dyment placed first and scored 26 team points.
In the 120 pound weight class, Tristen Evan placed second and scored 22.5 team points.
In the 145 pound weight class, Aaron Olsen placed second and scored 21.5 team points.
And in the 126 pound weight class, Carl Charlie placed third and scored 20.5 team points.
The premier 1, 2, 3A tournament of the season is this weekend at Anchorage Christian School.
