The body of a 15 year-old girl was found on the tundra west of BIA Road on Sunday, March 14. The Bethel Police Department and Bethel Search and Rescue recovered the body not long after the girl had been reported missing to police.
The girl's family found her body and called BPD to the scene. Police currently believe that cold exposure was her cause of death, but her remains will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for official determination.
