To provide a safe education this school year, the Lower Kuskokwim School District has been in close consultation with the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation. Earlier this week, LKSD Superintendent Kimberly Hankins spoke with YKHC Chief of Staff Dr. Ellen Hodges about the state of the pandemic in the region and how to stay healthy. This conversation was recorded on Sept. 28 by YKHC and has been shared with KYUK. We join the conversation after Hodges shared the latest COVID-19 case numbers in the region. As of Sept. 30, that count has reached 153 total cases since the pandemic began; 15 of those cases are active. In the interview, LKSD’s Kimberly Hankins speaks first.
