YKHC Offering Medical Appointments Through Video Or Phone Call

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is now offering medical appointments via video or phone call. The hospital says that this new service is different from its video teleconference appointments, where patients are seen in village clinics by a provider in Bethel. Now, patients can access medical care directly from their homes.

YKHC says that almost all outpatient care can be made through “telehealth,” including appointments for family planning, refills on chronic medication, and common cold symptoms. Providers at YKHC warn that as with all new services, there may be some issues at the beginning.
