During the school closures caused by COVID-19, the Lower Kuskokwim School District will still be offering breakfast and lunch to students. Starting March 23, LKSD will be delivering those meals to students in Bethel. The Lower Yukon School District is also offering lunches to its students.

LKSD Superintendent Dan Walker said that if you’d rather pick up lunch from school, that will continue to be an option.
Bethel Regional High School:

- 12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. 9th through 12th grade
Gladys Jung Elementary School:
- 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 3rd and 4th grade

Mikelnguut Elitnaurviat:
- 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Pre-K and Kindergarten

Superintendent Dan Walker said that he doesn’t know the specific times that meals will be provided at village schools, and that each site will be different.
Walker says the district recommends students practice social distancing and common sense to keep safe distances from each other when picking up their meals. LKSD’s website recommends staying at least 6 feet apart. Walker also says that teachers and staff working at schools have been told to avoid interacting with students. The cafeterias will remain closed, so students should pick up their meals and take them home to eat.
Bethel Educational Content Delivery Schedule
As of Friday, March 20, BRHS principal Doug Boyer said educational content delivery was only available for BRHS and ME. For Gladys Jung Elementary School, and Ayaprun Elitnaurvik, students or their guardians will have to pick up their work packets from school.
Superintendent Dan Walker says all the schools in LKSD will be delivering educational content for its students by March 30.
