Next week will mark one year since the first person in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta tested positive for the coronavirus. A year later, the region has one of the highest vaccination rates in the country and things are looking up. However, outbreaks are beginning again after a decrease in cases in early March. KYUK's Anna Rose MacArthur talks with Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation Chief of Staff Dr. Ellen Hodges about why these outbreaks are occurring, and how to stop them. They also talk about why YKHC is asking parents and guardians to sign up their 12 to 15-year-old children for the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine.
