Missing Child Returns Home

Update Oct. 12, 2020 7 p.m.: Bethel police report that Christopher Charles Jr., age 12, has been found and returned home after missing for four days.

Update Oct. 12, 2020 10:30 a.m.: Bethel police are coordinating with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to search for Christopher Charles Jr. The child was also reported missingfor two days in September.

Original story: Bethel police are asking the public’s help in locating a missing child. Christopher Charles Jr., age 12, was last seen in the Slough neighborhood on Oct. 9. “Christopher was allowed to go for a walk, did not come home for dinner as he was told, and hasn't gone home since,” according to an alert from Bethel police. The child is an Alaska Native male, 5 feet tall, 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Police are identifying Charles as a runaway. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Bethel police department at 907-543-3781.
