Six candidates are running for four open seats on the Bethel City Council. To help voters get to know the candidates, KYUK hosted the 2021 Bethel City Council Candidates Forum on Sept. 21.

The candiates are Mary “Beth” Hessler, Jared Karr, Jess Schroeder, Eric Whitney, and incumbents Conrad “CJ” McCormick and Mark Springer. Each term lasts two years.
During the live event, candidates responded to questions from journalists from KYUK and The Delta Discovery. They also responded to questions from each other about issues important to Bethel. The Bethel municipal election is Oct. 5. Early voting has already begun.
