2020 Bethel City Council candidates (clockwise) Perry Barr, Michelle DeWitt, Conrad “CJ” McCormick, and Rose “Sugar” Henderson
KYUK

Four candidates are running for three open seats on Bethel City Council. Hear the candidates respond to questions on how the city can better respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, solutions to address Bethel's housing shortage, how to retain the next city manager, and more.

KYUK hosted the live 2020 Bethel City Council Candidates Forum on Sept. 23. In the first half of the forum, candidates responded to questions asked by journalists from KYUK and The Delta Discovery. In the second half, candidates responded to questions from each other.

The candidates are incumbents Mayor Perry Barr and Michelle DeWitt, newcomer Rose "Sugar" Henderson, and write-in candidate Conrad "C.J." McCormick. Bethel City Council elections are Oct. 6. Terms run two years.

The forum will be translated into Yugtun by Julia Jimmie, Lillian Michael, and Melvin Pavilla.
