Kusko Cab Driver Arrested For DUI

Early yesterday morning, Bethel residents saw a Kusko Cab which had crashed into a ditch in front of AC. Bethel police say that they found the driver attempting to leave the scene. After resisting arrest, he was booked for driving under the influence.

Kusko Cab co-owner Naim Shabani says that he has been in the taxi business for almost 20 years, and that he has never seen a case like this.

“I would never, ever, ever, I give you my word, support any behavior like that,” Shabani said. “And as a matter of fact, he’s fired until further notice.”

Shabani said that the driver will be suspended unless cleared by a court of law, but he said that the case may be more complicated than it looks.

“They didn’t catch him in the act of driving in the vehicle,” Shabani said. “His vehicle was crashed, but he was elsewhere.”

Shabani also pointed out that the driver was off duty at the time of the incident.
