In Kongiganak, a man is accused of firing shots inside a family member’s home on May 9. Alaska State Troopers responded to a report saying Isaiah Fancyboy, age 34, fired a weapon inside a family member’s arctic entryway. The people inside were able to exit the home safely. Fancyboy then went into the home and barricaded himself inside it. He refused to turn himself in to tribal police officers.

Troopers traveled to Kongiganak. Unable to make contact with Fancyboy, they called for backup, believing that he was heavily armed. More troopers arrived. They entered the home and found Fancyboy “passed out on a couch.”

Troopers have charged him with multiple counts of third and fourth degree assault and remanded him to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel.
