Calista Holding Annual Meeting Virtually, Offering Cash Incentives To Attend

Top executives at the Calista Regional Native Corporation are accusing each other of misconduct, and it’s not clear who’s telling the truth.
Calista Corporation.

For the second year in a row, the Calista Native Regional Corporation is holding its annual meeting online to avoid the risks of gathering physically during the COVID-19 pandemic. Calista held its first virtual annual meeting last year, and this year’s meeting will look similar.

The event will occur July 1 at 1 p.m. Shareholders can log in to a live stream of the 47th annual meeting using their individual voting PIN. Calista is mailing out these PINs, along with other voting information, beginning May 21. Shareholders who opted to receive these materials electronically should receive an email with their voting information on May 21.

The election results for the Calista Board of Directors will be announced at the annual meeting. Calista is offering cash incentives, totaling $58,000, to encourage shareholders to cast their ballot online at www.calistavote.com. Calista said that most shareholders should be able to vote online in less than 3 minutes. Shareholders who vote online by June 5at 5 p.m. qualify for a $10,000 top prize. Shareholders who vote online will also be eligible for other cash prizes. Voting ends June 28.

Calista is also offering cash incentives to shareholders to log in to the annual meeting. Shareholders who log will in enter a drawing, and two winners will receive $2,500.

Correction: The original version of this story said that the deadline to vote for Calista board elections was July 5 by 5 p.m. That is incorrect. The deadline to vote is June 5 by 5 p.m.
