In their meeting on Jan. 11, Bethel City Council could decide who to hire for the open Bethel City Manager position. They have an executive session scheduled. In their Jan. 5 meeting, they conducted second round interviews with two candidates: Pete Williams and Janette Bower.

Work on piped water and sewer service in the Avenues Subdivision could start as soon as April. In their Jan. 11 meeting, the council is due to vote on a measure that would make it possible. If passed, it would designate a lot on the corner of 5th Avenue and Main Street to serve as a site for public utility distribution to the neighborhood.

Bethel City Council meetings are broadcast live on KYUK, but executive sessions are not public.
