In last night’s special meeting, Bethel City Council interviewed two candidates for the Bethel City Manager position: Pete Williams and Janette Bower. The council discussed the two applicants in a private session, and have yet to publicly announce who will be hired.

Williams has been serving in an interim role as Bethel’s city manager since September. He previously served as Bethel City Manager for two years before being fired in a split vote in 2019. Williams was also Bethel’s port commissioner for many years.

Bower is the city administrator for the city of Wadena, Minnesota, population 4,100. She previously worked as the Bethel City Clerk from 2002 to 2003.

Olivia was a News Reporter for KYUK from 2020-2022.
