Alaska Department of Fish and Game has announced a commercial salmon opening in the Bethel Kuskokwim area. The six-hour opening starts Friday, August 12 from noon to 6 p.m. in Subdistrict 1-A. That’s the area of District 1 upstream of Bethel to the mouth of Bogus Creek. The opening is for catcher/sellers registered with ADF&G. Subsistence fishing will remain open during this time. This is the second commercial opening of this kind for the Bethel area this season.
