Over the weekend, the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation identified 13 new cases of COVID-19. On Monday, Sept. 14, there were four more cases.

Seven of those cases are Y-K Delta village residents who are close contacts of previously known cases. Two were village residents who returned from travel, and one was a village resident who was tested outside of the region and is currently self-isolating in Bethel. Three cases were non-village residents who received their positive result in a Y-K Delta village, and two were Bethel residents who tested positive at the Bethel airport.

To date, YKHC has identified 118 cases of COVID-19 connected to the region, and it has announced that there is community spread of the coronavirus in Bethel.
