Now for another episode of “What It Is At LKSD,” a weekly roundup of events happening throughout the Lower Kuskokwim School District. This week’s episode is brought to you by Paiton Andy, a senior from Newtok in the Trades Ready Academy, and Moses Wiseman, a senior from Chefornak in the Health/STEM Ready Academy.

This Friday and Saturday is the Great Alaska Conference Wrestling Tournament at Bethel Regional High School. The top two wrestlers in each weight class will earn their spot in the state wrestling tournament in Anchorage. The tournament starts on Friday at 9:00 a.m. and goes until 10 p.m. You won’t want to miss the championship rounds, which will begin around 6:30 p.m. Consolation rounds and awards will take place on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Come out and support your LKSD Wrestlers.

The tournament will also be live-streamed for those who can’t attend in person. Check out YouTube.com/LKSDJournalism or Facebook.com/BRHSWarriors for the link.

LKSD schools will also be flying into Bethel this weekend for Lego Robotics. The students in the competition have created robots that will complete missions on a playing field. This year’s theme is “Into Orbit,” and the top two qualifying teams will move on to the state competition in January. The event is being held at Gladys Jung Elementary School. Spectators will be able to watch the robots compete on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to noon, and from 5 to 6 p.m. The competition will continue on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. with awards to follow.

This was Paiton and Moses and that's what it is at LKSD.
