There’s a new starting line for the three big sled dog races starting this weekend: the Kuskokwim 300, the Bogus Creek 150, and the Akiak Dash.
The Kuskokwim 300 Race Committee moved the starting line from its traditional place in front of the Joe Lomack building near the river to the front of the small boat harbor.
K300 Race Manager Madelene Reichard says that the committee decided to move the starting line because a truck trail was plowed through the traditional start line.
