Though he has been living in Juneau with his family for about three years, long-time residents of Bethel don’t need an introduction to Qacung, otherwise known as Stephen Blanchett. They have watched him and his brother grow up. Many were there when their group Pamyua first got together and performed, melding tradition with multi-cultural influences to make music that totally captivated those of us in the audience. Speaking with Qacung this morning is KYUK’s Elyssa Louglin.

This is the third year with COVID-19 in the region. The number of people contracting the disease continues to climb, which poses challenges to school districts all over the state. Greg Kim spoke with Lower Kuskokwim School District Superintendent Kimberly Hankins about how the district is coping with the latest increase in cases.
