The crash in chum and chinook salmon populations is puzzling many scientists. Joining us for “Coffee at KYUK” today are KYUK’s Olivia Ebertz and Peter Westley, a salmon conservation biologist at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Westley admits that the collapses have made him rethink scientific assumptions.

It’s the time of year when Bethel’s ONC organizes a community clean up. Leading the effort are Mary Matthias, ONC’s environmental program director, and two members of the summer ALPAR Program: Dylan Demientieff and Lacy Samuelson. Beverly Hoffman has also been out there with the crew picking up and hauling trash. She takes us through the process here on “Coffee at KYUK.”
