US Department Of The Treasury Changes Submission Information For Alaska Native Tribes

US Department Of The Treasury

The U.S. Department of the Treasury extended the deadline for Tribes to withdraw their American Rescue Plan funding from federal coffers by two weeks. Previously, the deadline for Tribes to withdraw the first round of funding was May 24. That has been pushed to June 7. And the deadline for withdrawing second round funds has been extended to June 21.

According to the Treasury, the extension comes following technical difficulties that Alaska Native Tribes had accessing the online funding portal. The Treasury said that it is now offering another way for Alaska Native Tribes to submit their information.

The Treasury will host a 30-minute meeting on Thursday, May 27, at 9:00 a.m. Alaska time for Alaska Native Tribes and administrators to learn about the alternate process for submitting information. Find the Zoom link here. Or to access the meeting by phone, dial 1-669-254-5252. The meeting ID is 160-080-1670#.

An earlier version of this story said that the meeting would be Wednesday, May 26. That is incorrect, the meeting has been changed to Thursday, May 27 at 9:00 am.
