Taboo Nawasha On Indigenous-Led Activism

Last month, the village of Tuluksak lost their water purification plant and washeteria building, which was the only source of clean drinking water the village had. Since then, activists and companies have been stepping in to donate drinking water and supplies for the village. The long list includes Taboo Nawasha. Nawasha is a rapper, songwriter, actor, DJ, and writer. But he’s probably most well known for being a member of the musical group Black Eyed Peas. He talked to KYUK’s Olivia Ebertz on how he got involved, and what inspires his Indigenous-led activism.

Olivia was a News Reporter for KYUK from 2020-2022.
