As the Lower Kuskokwim School District hosted its big regional championship game in Bethel this weekend, other regional school districts were doing the same.
The Lower Yukon School District and the St. Mary’s School District, which is comprised of only one school, competed for the championship title and a shot at state. The St. Mary’s Lady Eagles beat the Alakanuk Lady Braves 61-56 for the championship. On the boys' side, the Pilot Station Kings will head to state after beating the St. Mary’s Eagles 65-59.
