Look To Bethel Sky For Military Flyover Celebrating Front-Line Workers

After being cancelled earlier this week, the planned flyover of military aircraft over Bethel, Kotzebue, and Nome has been rescheduled for Friday, May 15.

The flyover is part of a statewide effort from the Air Force and Air National Guard to celebrate the efforts of COVID-19 first responders and essential workers. An HC-130 rescue plane and KC-135 Stratotanker were scheduled to fly over Bethel, Nome, and Kotzebue on Tuesday, May 12. However, the flyover was postponed due to weather in Bethel and Nome.

The rescheduled HC-130 flyover will start in Bethel at 12:15 p.m. on May 15 before hitting Nome at 1:15 and Kotzebue at 2:15.

Meanwhile, the KC-135 will start the flyover in Kotzebue at 1:15 p.m. before heading to Nome at 2 p.m. and finishing over Bethel at 3 p.m.
