The Kuskokwim Corporation Postpones Annual Shareholder Meeting

The Kuskokwim Corporation is postponing its annual shareholder meeting scheduled for June 6 in Stony River. The announcement comes as the state has ramped up its response to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

TKC CEO Andrea Gusty said in a statement that "given the significant health risks that COVID-19 poses to our Elders and our communities, TKC must act with an abundance of caution as we navigate this pandemic.”

Gusty urges shareholders to follow guidelines from the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention. Meanwhile, TKC is also postponing its board elections until it becomes safe to hold large gatherings again. The village corporation says that the deadline to submit nominating petitions and candidate questionnaires is still March 23.

TKC says that its annual dividends will still be distributed on May 15. TKC oversees 10 villages in the Middle Kuskokwim Area.
