Knik Employee Digs Up Human Remains In Aniak

On Sept. 6, a Knik Construction employee was digging up ground in Aniak to install power lines for the ongoing runway project, when the worker also dug up a human jawbone.

Alaska State Troopers say that the employee contacted the troopers stationed in Aniak who, after investigating, found more human remains. An online dispatch says that those remains were likely from an old burial site, and have been sent to the state medical examiner’s office in Anchorage.
