A unique program combines goal-setting, skill-building, and Yup’ik values to help students make the transition from high school to college and other postsecondary opportunities. It’s called “Tengluni” or “Take Wing,” and the help provided includes assistance in finding the right school, help with scholarship applications, and more. Puyuk Joule, the mentorship director of Tengluni, and Emily Brockman with the Alaska Humanities Forum are looking for 54 high school seniors from the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta to participate in the program.
