Funeral services are scheduled for two Napakiak community members: Becca White, age 24, and Isaiah Parka, age 22. The services will be held at the Napakiak Moravian Church on Wednesday, April 8 at 4 p.m.

White and Parka died after a fire engulfed the Napakiak jail last week. Two guards were injured trying to save them. At least 20 community members, mostly young men, banded together to try to stop the fire.

Described as “best friends,” White and Parka had been picked up for driving a four-wheeler while intoxicated. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
