Former Lt. Gov. Valerie Nurr’araaluk Davidson will step down from her role as president of Alaska Pacific University (APU) to lead the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) as its president.

In March, Davidson was named as interim president of ANTHC after the former president resigned. Davidson took a leave of absence from her role at APU

Davidson, who is Yup’ik from Bethel and a Tribal citizen of Orutsararmiut Native Council, previously served as senior director of legal and intergovernmental affairs for ANTHC, the commissioner of the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, and as the lieutenant governor of the State of Alaska.

Hilton Hallock began serving as APU's interim president during Davidson’s leave of absence. Hallock will continue to serve in that role during a hiring search for president.
