The Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor, Debra Call, stopped in during Tuesday night’s Bethel City Council meeting to introduce herself to Bethel.

“I was born in Palmer, Alaska. I’m a lifelong Alaskan, and I’m a Dena’ina Athabascan from the Cook Inlet area,” said Call.

Call worked in Bethel early in her career with the Community Enterprise Development Corporation. She said that it was good to be back, and thanked everyone for their hospitality.

As well as City Hall, Call also visited the Association of Village Council Presidents, Yuut Elitnaurviat, the Senior Center, Bethel Family Clinic, Alaska Commercial, and the Orutsararmiut Native Council.

Correction: a previous version of this story spelled Call's first name as "Deborah." The story now reflects the correct spelling, "Debra."
