YKHC's Diabetes Prevention and Control on pharmacists and managing illness

YKHC's Diabetes Prevention and Control Specialist Emory Johnson is joined by pharmacist and Diabetes Prevention and Control Coordinator Beth Tressler. To celebrate American Pharmacists' month, they discuss the importance of pharmacists in handling diabetes and other illnesses.

Due to COVID-19, the monthly diabetes support group will no longer meet. If you or a family member would like support, Diabetes Prevention and Control encourages people to contact their case managers directly, or call Emory Johnson at 907-543-6133.

If you believe you may have diabetes, take the free online 60-second risk test at www.diabetes.org/risk-test.

If you have any suggestions on what you would like to hear about the very complicated world of diabetes, or any questions or topics you would like to be covered during this segment, email diabetes_program@ykhc.org to share your ideas.

Elyssa (she/her) is the Wellness Programming Producer and a second year Jesuit Volunteer/Americorps Member at KYUK. She loves dogs, listening to podcasts and playing ABBA to close out the Birthday Line.
