Man Shoots Kusko Cab Driver In The Face And Steals His Cab

Early on the morning of July 5, a man shot a Bethel cab driver in the face and stole his cab on the 200 block of Ptarmigan Road. A passerby who noticed a man with a gunshot wound in his lower face lying on the road called the police to report the incident at around 3:30 a.m.

Responding officers and medics arrived on the scene and transported the wounded Kusko Cab driver to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in an ambulance. Later, the man was medevaced to a hospital in Anchorage, where he is in stable condition. 

 

Officers have recovered the vehicle, but have not apprehended anyone in connection with the incident. Bethel Chief of Police Richard Simmons said that they don’t currently have a suspect. Simmons asked anyone with information about the incident to call the police at (907) 543-3781.
