Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy says that 90% of the structures in Kipnuk were destroyed by the remnant of Typhoon Halong. The Native Village of Kipnuk issued a disaster declaration on Oct. 14.

As of October 22, the State of Alaska Emergency Operations Center reports that Kipnuk's water supply appears to be contaminated with fuel and sewage.

Napakiak’s relocation coordinator said that basically every house in Napakiak and most businesses had water come into them when the remnants of Typhoon Halong hit the region. The city office and local clinic weren’t inundated, but still sustained damage.
