Tuesday evening the 2016 Bethel City Council candidates gathered in City Hall to answer questions on why they are running for council and what they would do if elected.
The six candidates are running for three open seats for the October 4 election. Five candidates attended the forum: Norman Ayagalria, Fritz Charles, Mary Nanuwak, Fred Watson, and Mary Weiss. Candidate Byron Maczynski was unable to attend due to illness.
KYUK hosted the event. The panelists included KYUK's Adrian Wagner and Lisa Demer of Alaska Dispatch News. John Active moderated. You can listen to the forum below in both English and Yup'ik.
