Mark Leary

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation has determined that community spread of COVID-19 is occurring in Tuluksak. Numerous recent cases there could not be linked to travel, which means that the virus is spreading, in some cases undetected, within the community.

As of Nov. 24. YKHC has announced that 41 individuals in Tuluksak have tested positive for COVID-19. The village has been in lockdown since Oct. 30, according to Tribal Administrator Melony Allain.

Community spread is also occurring in eight other places in the Y-K Delta. In alphabetical order, they are Akiak, Bethel, Chevak, Kwethluk, Napaskiak, Quinhagak, Scammon Bay, and Toksook Bay.
