IHS National Leader Visits YKHC Clinics

The national head of the Indian Health Service visited the Yukon Kuskokwim Delta Thursday. IHS Principal Deputy Director Mary Smith visited the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel and then flew to its clinics in Hooper Bay and Chevak to learn about the Community Health Aide Program (CHAP) and how YKHC delivers health care to rural Alaskan villages. KYUK talked with the Smith after she got off the plane after returning to Bethel.
